There are so many times in life where the words "Thank You" just do not seem like enough. This is one of those times where the words seem so small in comparison to the gratitude felt, yet, they really are the only appropriate words to describe the sentiment. I have attempted to write a big heartfelt thanks at least a half a dozen times, but I cannot seem to pull it off through the tears in my eyes. So this will have to do. Thank you to all of our friends, family and the local community (who are mostly friends and family) for your HUGE show of support. We did it! We made a huge difference in Bud and Patti's fight. I cannot even begin to express our gratitude and and awe at the overwhelming show of love and support. Thank you to everyone who was involved. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Over the course of this week I will be individually thanking people/groups of people, it is just too much to wrap my head around at this point. We love you all and are so happy to have you as a part of our lives!
On October 16th we will be hosting a Fundraiser for the Skilling family to help them financially so they can focus on helping "Bud" beat his lung cancer diagnosis. Follow this blog for fundraiser updates and ways you can help.
Welcome to the "Bud" Skilling Cancer Fundraiser blog. "Bud" was diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2010 and has recently started chemotherapy in hopes of putting the cancer into remission. Bud has been unable to work all summer and due to a past heart attack does not qualify for short term disability. Obviously the lack of income has placed a strain on Bud and Patti and the goal of this blog and the upcoming fund raiser is to help ease that burden so that the focus can go back to getting Bud better.
